I've been looking around for catalog pages that might show this drum but WFL catalog pics seem more difficult to find that Ludwig catalog pages. I've included some pictures of the actual set here 22" 16" 13" - there is some rust and the nickel all needs cleaning but over all in decent shape.
Someone put that same unit on an Oyster Black set I have. Ray Mc Kinley late 40's-early-50's...catalog kit would be a Buddy Rich 26,13,16 w/That 6.5x14 Ray Mc Kinley(check out my pics)great drums WFL are the best..so well...shells leveled and trued, nice lite/brittle mahogany, tight wrap, best NOB lugs, hoops and tension rods..quality WFL parts!!!
Fortunately that particular setup uses relatively small holes. Thanks Teen, You bring my next point of information if I would like to look at WFL catalog pages I do not seem to find any like I can find for Ludwig pages - I normally use this excellent web site to track stuff down but there are no actual pages that show a Ray Mc Kinley model or Buddy Rich model etc.
go to ace hardware and pick up some cape cod cloths. i cant see the badge good enough to date the snare. that wmp looks just right to me though, vintage mojo! - I just added some additional info to my original post: "Also the WFL keystone badge has the "Damen Ave." address at the bottom of it which I think dates it to 48'-52'" so that might narrow it down to at least within a 4 years....
Hey Mark - glad to hear from you, it looks like from bearing to bearing edge is right at 6 1/4" - how do did you determine the Buddy Rich model?
Ludwig drums are available in sizes 6″–26″ and in a variety of graduated depths.
