Transport properties of self consolidating concrete
As the pore structure is different for SCC in comparison with traditional vibrated concrete, some changes in durability can be noticed. This paper is first giving an overview of hydration, microstructure and transport mechanisms of self-compacting concrete. SCC is a new variety of high performance concrete with superior deformability and segregation resistance.Due to its high flow properties, it reduces noise level resulting from no vibration or no compaction during placing.Self-consolidating concrete (SCC) is an innovative material used successfully throughout the world.It is a highly flowable, non-segregating concrete that can spread into place, fill the formwork, and encapsulate the reinforcement without any mechanical consolidation, improving the overall efficiency of a concrete construction project.
Presenting a basis for consistently producing and applying SCC in a regular production environment, this book is written from the perspective of the concrete practitioner.
The results show that the highest value of compressive strength was achieved for Portland Slag Cement (PSC) and without any metakaolin at age of 90 days.
